Pursuant to the order of the National Green Tribunal (NGT) and the directives issued by Chief Secretary, RV Suchiang, the district magistrate of West Jaintia Hills has issued an order under Section 144 CrPC prohibiting illegal mining and transportation of coal along the state and national highways in the district with immediate effect.
